Meditation Weekends
We are considering introducing weekends of meditation starting in January and would like to know your feelings about the various schedules that we could offer: ½ day, 1 day, 2 days and 2½ days. We could also consider a series of 1 day or ½ day programs over successive weekends. The idea is to provide and opportunity for intense meditation practice and instructions in various techniques that might enrich our meditation and views about meditation. In each model the basic idea would be similar: a number of three hour sessions broken up into 4 periods of 45 minutes each that would include maybe 30 minutes of sitting meditation; 10 minutes of walking/ standing meditation and 5 minutes of meditation instruction. That could be supplemented with more elaborate meditation instructions or even be designed as an introduction to Buddhism.
